I love this particular myth, so clever of the body to be time aware in this way. LOL

Apparently my left tastes of Lemons and my right of strawberries, so I'm broke in a very interesting way :)

SummerRain · 01/04/2011 18:23

none of my three children seem to think so and I can tell you from tasting it myself Blush that it tastes the same at 1 weeks or 1 year!

bintofbohemia · 01/04/2011 18:23

Ha, it's a wind up, surely?

nomoremagnolia · 01/04/2011 18:27

I really don't think she was winding me up :( If she wants to stop BFing at 6 mo that's her choice but if she's doing it based on wrong information I want to put her right. I also want to continue BFing DS to at least a year if possible.

Of course you can breastfeed to a year, you can carry on beyond if you and your child are happy. :)

Tiktok, opioids?? Like opiates? Totally harmless opiates? That's about the best argument for breastfeeding I've ever heard...

thumbwitch · 02/04/2011 01:48

Bertie - yes, opioids. The body produces them naturally - that's why we have opioid receptors in our body, that also respond to opiates. Nothing dangerous about the opioids in general (although some people with ASD are highly sensitive to the opioids from casein and gluten and can get quite "high" on them). Natural opioids are produced at all times, not just when bf'ing so not really an argument for bf'ing.
