OMG I have just being informed by my sister in law that because I am BF my DD (13 weeks) "too much", she is "anti social" and "clingy". Can you bloody believe the stupidity of some people, as if such a tiny person can be anti social!!!

some people are bloody clueless.

similar to how i felt getting told that 'you can't pick them up every time they cry can you?' why yes i can thanks, he's flippin tiny and needs his mum/dad!

bet you get 'surely she's not hungry again already?'too. Wink

sounds like your DSIL is the anti-social one....

Does she have childeren of her own? Does she not know that it is impossible to BF too much? And how does she define too much. As far as I know the only problem would be if you're not BFing enough and your DD isn't thriving because you're witholding milk....

i hope she's not a HV :)

Idiot woman!

stinkyfluffycat · 30/03/2011 15:44

Sorry, I mean your SIL is an idiot, not you!

cardamomginger · 30/03/2011 15:46

how daft. what level of sociability does she expect from a 13 week old??? in any case, i'm anti-social and i was ff Grin.

Yeah I have had all the comments including "you only BF because your too stubborn", when in fact I actually BF because I decided it was best for my DD who much to my delight is thriving after being born prem and having a rough start. SIL has a 6 year old but she received masses of support and IMO did very little parenting in the early days. Anyway her comments will not change my mind as nothing confirms my decision more than seeing my lovely DD gaze up at me and smile after filling her tummy with milk.

What level of sociability was she expecting from a 13 week old? Is she miffed because DD is too busy bfing to update her FB or Twitter?

Your SIL is an idiot, feel free to slap her with a wet mackerel from me Grin

You know that you can't bf a baby too much and if she means by too clingy that the baby wants to spend time with her Mum, well isn't that perfectly natural and lovely?

I'd much rather spend time with you and your DD than your SIL. She sounds like the antisocial one.
