Tommee Tippee VS Avent VS ?????

So I'm 30 weeks gone tomorrow, and trying to get prepared for baby to arrive. I'm planning on mainly BFing, but want to introduce bottles a bit later on to give me a break and so other people can feed her and not just me. My sister used TT bottles and she loved them, my SIL has given me a TT steam steriliser. So I was just wondering which ones are the best or is it just down to trial and error to see which ones work best for me? The TT bottles and the Avent ones all have good and bad reviews so I'm lost!! Also if anyone can recommend anything else that isn't TT or Avent that would be great :)

I have used both (nannying)

I always loved AVENT the best, and always had in mind when the time came id use AVENT.
However the most recent time i used tommee tippee closer to nature, and i preferred them, although i cant pin point why.

I am now pregnant, planning on breast feeding, but hoping to express so Daddy can do a dream feed of expressed milks from about 2 - 4 weeks ish i hope.
I have chosen tommee tippee closer to nature for my baby, as and when he or she arrives, although i still dont know why. Probably becasue i prefer the shaped and texture or the teets a bit more?

I know that babies who have severe reflux often get on better with Dr browns.

If the bottle i choose dont seem to suit my baby i will just buy some different ones. Will probably only by 2 or 3 bottles anyway, as dont plan to use them most of the time & can always buy more later if necessary

I know I keep thinking I should get TT ones, no idea why though. Probably because my sister had them and because I have the steriliser, although I'm assuming/hoping that other bottles should hopefully fit inside of it!

I used Avent with no problems at all. I chose them because that's what was in the shop at the time.

We started off with Avent (for no other reason than we were given a couple of bottles so stuck with them). At about 6 weeks however our DD started getting wind problems and was spitting out the Avent ones and crying. I bought some Dr Brown's on recommendation and love them - wind problem all but gone. Not sure I will be going back.

One thing to keep in mind however is that if you are expressing them keep in mind which you will use as many pumps and bottles / sterilising equipment is used together (i had an Avent pump which attached to Avent bottles - which I now decant into the Dr Browns bottles after..............)

I've got Avent because it's easy to get here along with an Avent pump. I've also used them when nannying and find tge bottles easier to hold than the TT ones which feel quite fat in my smallish hands.

I went for TT Closer To Nature bottles & steriliser. We did the occasional bottle from 6 wks and had no problems at all. My little angel went on nursing strike (refusing to feed off me) @ 10.5mths recently and so I resumed expressing. I was watching him yesterday & he was latched on to it really well - so well that I tried him back on me and he carried on. Certainly no confusion in his mind between me & bottle.

I've never tried Avent bottles so can't comment. Quite a few friends did however & were v happy with them.

The one negative - I couldn't get on with the TT CTN manual pump at all - so much so I got a refund from them. I bought an Avent manual pump and it worked just fine for me. I just have to pour the milk from the Avent beaker to the TT bottle - which isn't a problem.

I suspect its all pretty personal - and you just have to try it to see if it suits you both. Perhaps buy 1 of each to test?

NB I've also heard Dr Browns are the best for babies with colic - 2nd hand info as luckily not an issue we had.

woba thats what I was sort of planning on possibly doing, my sister said TT manual pumps were rubbish and to get an Avent one, so I ordered an Avent pump off Amazon. Was planning on probably going for TT bottles and pouring milk into TT bottles from Avent pump lol!

I think I will do what you suggest, buy one of each and see which one works best :)
Thanks for all your help everyone xx
