Poo worries

My ebf ds is 9 weeks old. He was pooing every few days and it was yellow and runny and copious but recently he is going much more often - today he has been 4 times! - the poos are smaller in volume but thicker and seedy and curdled They have varied in colour from dark yellow to orange to the occasional green one. I can't think why this change has occured. He seems well in all other respects. Should I be worried?

If he's fine I wouldn't worry.

My health visitor told me that reading poo was like reading tea leaves! My five month DD has been EBF and we have now experienced many different poos - changes in colour, volume, consistency and frequency.

I think it has a lot to do with how much they are taking in and whether they are snacking or having a few hearty feeds. Poo also changes as their gut develops.

Relax and enjoy - Just you wait until you start weaning - my oh my - you will see a change then!!!

all sounds completely normal to me Green, yellow, bright orange. Once a day or every feed and he fed every 2 hrs. It just kept changing. I did try to see if there was a pattern ie his feeding or my diet but realised i was just stressing myself out for nothing he was happy and well and growing. I think it's the real baby milk website that has got info on breastfed babies poo if you fancy a look

I think they change their poo just to keep you guessing. If he seems well in himself, then he is well.
