Expressed milk 2 days ago - smells sour?

I expressed milk on Sunday morning and stored it in a plastic milk storage bag in the fridge. Took it out and warmed it up just now and it smelled funny. Tasted it Blush and it's slightly sour - sure it's not meant to taste like that.

I'm now a bit worried about the 100oz i've got bagged up in the freezer. Any thoughts?

If it smells and tastes sour i'd discard it just to be on the safe side. Is your fridge at the correct temperature and did you put it towards the back? When I tasted mine (yuck I know lol) it was sweet, not sure if this is normal though! Also did a quick google... www.kellymom.com/bf/pumping/lipase-expressedmilk.html
Hope this helps!

I've ben having lots of problems with milk spoiling quickly - incl previously frozen - tried the Kellymom trick of scalding it and that's worked a charm.

if it smells I'd discard it, it's like cows milk, if it's ok it doesnt smell. was what you've got in the freezer frozen straight after expressing? that's probably ok if so.

rachie, yes sweet is normal!

Thank you so much!

Weirdly, DP thought it smelled like soap. I thought it smelled really sour. Then I looked at that Kellymom link and it does sound like a lipase problem, so you were bang on Rachiebabes11. Sadly that probably means my freezer stash is fit for the bin .

Thank you though, I thought it was down to the bags I was using :)

I think I would have cried if my 100oz had been like that

hope your new scalding technique does the job
