Should I bother with a formula feed at 8m?

I've bf DS (nearly 9m) since birth and probably will carry on until 12 months plus.

However, can I introduce a ff now or is it too late? I am shattered (possibly bit anemic) and my boobs just bloody hurt (always tender with milk blisters). He's also a bit picky with solids and only wants to fill up on milk.

I've tried him on a couple of cartons of Cow and Gate (for 6 months +) over the weekend in a sippy cup (he just wont take bottles). It was messy and long winded and he was sick a couple of times. Is this a normal raction to a new milk?

Is this just a waste of time and likely to upset his tummy?

It doesn't really seem to have stop my milk production and gave my boobs a blessed rest and meant that he slept a bit better. (Me and DP watched a film for the first time since he was born!)

Would a different brand be better?

Any advice appreciated.

DS (6m) wont take formula at all, so you might struggle...
