Back to work and engorgement

I'm going back to work in June when DS2 will be 10 months. I'm going to be going back two days and DS2 will be at a childminder. He currently has about 6 feeds a day (he's very snacky!)and a dream feed of formula.
I know that if I don't feed him for about 6 hours (eg on a rare day away from him), I'm in agony by the time I get home. I'm not sure I'll be able to express at work (it's office based but I'll be out and about a lot - can't see me expressing on a bus!). Will my supply adjust itself or am I setting myself up for mastitis and sore boobs?

I went back at about the same time and I work 2 days per week too. I did express for a few weeks at lunchtime, just for my comfort. After a few weeks my body seemed to work out that I didn't need as much milk on those days.

Are you sure there is nowhere you can express, even if you do it by hand?

I went back to work at 11 months for two 12.5 hour shifts a week. The first four shifts were agony. I didn't want to express at work either. After that I tried to reduce the "snacking" in the day before work by keeping her occupied with other stuff and things just seem to have worked out fine. (DD 14 months now). I just dream feed her before and after work. I think the regulation of supply of breast milk is clever!

Good luck!
