Question about expressed milk

Quick question about expressed milk. When I take it out of the fridge, how long does it last for? Thanks.

Hmm... I'm not sure what the official line is, but I treat it like cows milk. If it's kept in a cool place, hours; but if it's a warm day, probably not that long.

Breastfeeding Network have a leaflet on milk storage. Up to 6 hours or so if freshly expressed.

There is some information on Kellymom too. It seems to say 6 to 8 hours, which is way better than the 2 hours for formula.

Always check it though - if it smells off, it is off! Mine seems to vary as to how long it lasts.
