To feed before bed or not.....WWYD

Hi All

Just looking for some opinions really. Up until recently DD was napping 3 times a day with last nap finishing around 5pm, feed then getting ready for bed at 6pm and down at 7pm.

In the last few days this has all changed and she is having 2 naps a day AM and PM and waking at 4pm. I give her a feed then and we still start bedtime at 6pm and bed for 7pm.

Problem is alot of people I know feed just before they put their DC's down for bed. Whenever I try this DD fall's asleep! Also When I feed her at 4pm she wakes up at 11pm for a feed. Feeding her at 7pm before bed still results in her waking at 11pm so does not to have an effect on how long she sleeps!

So I guess the question is should I be feeding just before I put her down or not? I just don't understand why she does not sleep past 11pm with an extra feed. If I keep giving it will she eventually sleep longer?

Sorry for long post but would value anyones opinion. I just don't know anyone else who doesn't feed right before bed.

Thanks.

Erm, I think they are all different and have thier own rhythm. How old is she?

She is 4.5 months. I know every baby is different - I just seem to be the only one not feeding right before bed in my circle of friends. Sounds sill maybe, but 4pm just feels early for her to be having her last feed during the day.

Feed her at 6 pm and put her down earlier

Keep the 11 pm feed

As the PP said, all babies have their own rhythm

Simple answer is to stop comparing what you do with anyone else.

I'd expect to have to feed her at 11pm, it's a nice time to do it, not really a 'night feed' for you, pushing it back later would surely be more of a PITA?

not feeding before bed might avoid the ' my baby will only go to sleep when I'm there she's reliant on BF dilemma'. Or it might not :)

Thanks Nagoo. I know you are right. I just can't keep up with her changing all the time! Just when I think we have sussed it and she is in a pattern it turns on its head!

If 11pm is too late for you then you might be able to dream feed at 10pm or 10.30pm.
