What do you think about while expressing?

Ain't bodies amazing. Mine knows that the pump isn't a baby despite its best efforts, and will only produce milk if I:

replay a mental film of first holding DS in my arms when he was 3 hours old

look at pictures of DS

watch a video clip of DS

or... read any MN thread about babies or pregnancy!

Fastest way to dry up: check work email or read sad relationship thread.

I thought it would be interesting to know what others did?

I finished with bf a couple of years ago but I mostly sat there watching sky news, wishing the pump would work quicker (I always had enough milk) and how bored I was with it and wanted to get on with something else.

mine won't do anything while i'm thinking about/ looking at the baby.

I gaze vacantly into space.

If i get agitated, say Ds starts doing something untoward, and i have to tell him off, then the letdown happens really quick.

odd that.

To start with (expressed from day 1 as DD was in scbu) I had to think baby and really relax. Now I often read a bit or listen to an audiobook - or compose grocery lists in my head!

I first used to have dd next to me (and sniff her newborn loveliness!) now I just need to relax, and sit and mn just as I do when bfing :)

I can;t do it when baby is awake - I find if she cries I stop bizarrely. Reading MN forums is my sure fire way of getting a let down! But I can't type and pump at the same time
