Hi folks, just wondering if anyone can shed any light on the awful nappies my DD has every time. She is 4 months old, was BF for the 1st 2 but every poo is out of the nappy despite how quickly you get to it!!! The HV seems to blame it all on the prebiotics in formula along with being on carobel for reflux. I've tried doing without carobel but made no difference and also changed formula which was the same!! It's not annoying her in the slightest but meant to be starting swimming this week and it would be a nightmare if she went in the pool!!! She is also on ranitidine for the reflux but we are currently weaning this down and still no change. Thanks for any suggestions you might have!!!!

Could she be teething? DS is the same age and started with the nasty nappies but i can see two teeth under his gums.

Ranitidine can cause rather explosive poos IME. Having said that, my DD who wasn't on any meds always had up-the-back poos until she started eating solids. Sorry!

Have you tried larger nappies? Might help Hmm

no teeth yet. This has been happening since the word go! I wish it was that then we would just have an answer!!
Narmada, Keeping my fingers crossed for it being linked to the ranitidine as we have only dropped 1 out of 3 doses so far! I was chatting to a work colleague who has a granddaughter who still does them every time and shes now 9 months! They think she might be better when she is on cow's milk!?!? My little one has just started baby rice so she just seems to be going more often but still escaping!!
As for nappies... we have tried larger ones and different brands but to no avail! Even tried putting a swim nappy on 1st with her normal 1 on top the other day when we had a special occasion, but that didn't work either!! Thank goodness she did it before we left home though!!!
