Has my 12 wk old breastfed baby got a tummy bug?

Until recently ds3 has had normal yellow mustardy poos. However, for the last week he has had green, seedy water in his nappy and he is grunting and groaning a lot more and going 6-8 times a day. Other than that he is as happy as larry..... He only has breastmilk. Should I worry? - I am reluctant to rush to doctors as he is fine and happy. Does he have a stomach bug or do they sometimes get like this? What would you do?

If it's watery as opposed to runny it's probably worth checking it out, if only to reassure yourself. My ds used to have a lot of greenish poos but they were only occasionally watery. My HV's advice at the time was not to worry unless it's foul-smelling though.

How old is he?

12 weeks. Nothing solid about them. Yes watery. Not foul smelling - in fact rather sweet smelling!!!!

i would get him checked for your own peace of mind if nothing else.

Doesn't sound too serious but probably worth checking out.

My ds had a green liquidy nappy, every nappy for about 3 weeks!
I got him checked out after about a week, even though he seemed perfectly fine in himself. The HV panicked me by saying "OMG why did you leave it so long, it could be really serious, I'll see if the doctor can see him right now" (How to make a mum a confident parent)
The paediatrician said it was nothing much to worry about and quite common in exclusively breast fed babies. But you have to make sure they don't get dehydrated. I'd go a see someone if only to put you mind at rest.
