Formula or cows milk wwyd?

My DS is 11 months and 1 week. I am almost at the end of a box of formula.

He has cows milk in food and has, on numerous occasions, finished off DS1's cows milk drinks!

I am wondering whether or not to get more formula, he is having a morning and night bottle and a drink of milk at lunch time, or to go straight to cows milk?

I doubt there will be a sudden change in his digestion in three weeks time. I would swap. DS had some small drinks of cows milk from about 10m.

It's nothing to do with digestion - just the amount of vitamins in formula as formula is just cows milk with stuff added anyway. I'd go straight to cows milk!

I switched to cows milk when my dd was 11 1/2 mo, because, like you, the box of formula was coming to an end, and I figured a couple of weeks wasn't going to make a blind bit of difference. If you were worried, you could always buy small ready made cartons of formula and combine them with cows milk for a few days, so you don't need to buy a whole box of formula and your ds has cows milk introduced over a few days.

The main point at a year old is cutting out bottles rather than stopping formula. I think I stuck pretty religiously to not before 12 months with my DS (but then that's why formula manufacturers love mums who wanted to breastfeed). I don't think 3 weeks is going to make a difference, but whatever you do I'd be sure that your DS is eating a varied enough diet - and enough of it - before switching.
