hi my daughter is over 12 months and her teeth are getting longer! its sometimes incredibly painful and although i wanted to continue til she stopped or turned 2 im not sure i can carry on! any advise? i am also thinking i could do with the freedom now as she only sleeps on the boob, so im kinda stuck sometimes for 2 plus hours with only the phone/ books/ or if im lucky a tv programme while i itch to get on with other things!

If you feel it's time to end BFing, then that's fine, you must do what's right for you as well as your DD.

If you would prefer to carry on, then you can work around the teeth thing - I fed DS until he was 23mo and he bit me probably 3 times, I think - each time he was removed from the boob and placed on the floor or bed, away from me, and told "No! No biting". Mostly worked ok. If they're feeding properly they shouldn't be able to bite you, because the tongue should be covering the lower teeth - so she might be testing you.

When you say she only sleeps on the boob - you mean she actually falls asleep with your boob in her mouth? or that you just can't put her down after she's fallen asleep?

Do you want to continue? Because you can get around the teeth issue and you can start to introduce feeding rules/times/schedules. You can teach other methods of sleeping. You can express and offer milk in a cup. You can use a sling and get on with other things. But this is all if you want to continue. From your op, I'm not sure whether you want to continue or permission to stop? Both are fine of course.

I bf dd until she was 3.4 btw. She bit me twice. She was teething molars when it happened.
