Change to feeding pattern after nursing strike?

Sorry if this is a daft question. 13 m.o. DS has just got over a 12 day nursing strike and is feeding properly again.

His feeding pattern has changed though and I was wondering if others with striking babies had found anything similar. When I feed him to sleep, he wants to feed for 45 mins (naps) or 60 mins (bedtime) instead of the usual 15 mins. At night he also wants to feed for ages and ages.

Is he just building my supply back up and enjoying the comfort, or might this be a pattern which might continue? I want to decide whether to keep feeding to sleep, or go back to rocking for naps so I actually have time to get something done while he sleeps. Wink

They can be all over the place once breaking a strike so bear with it for a few days but if you want to do the things you and baby are used to for aiding sleep, etc then definitely do so.

Just be aware that there may be a renewed enthusiasm for bfing and want to bf lots and lots even if they were previously on only a few feeds a day.

It might also be a building up of your supply so don't be too hasty to limit feeds at this stage in case supply isn't where baby wants it.

Thanks, Truth.

I'm been going with the flow, although it's hard to tell when he wants bf as he doesn't ask, so I'm offering whenever he's in a strop (often at the moment, even when he doesn't want bf).

I'm not going to try shortening feeds (he'd be very cross if I did Wink) but I might go back to rocking for naps which is what we used to do, then feed when he wakes in the middle.

I was prepared for the hour long bedtime feed tonight so I had my book ready. :)

Truth, you were right - he's back to 'normal' length sleepy feeds today. :)

My supply has definitely increased in the last day or two. He's feeding more often at night than he was, but a similar frequency in the day.
