Hello Everyone,

My little DD has been bottle fed sice birth, she was prem and jaundice and has always been a fussy eater.

She has recently, since 10 weeks old, been off her food. The doctor says she could be teething as she chews her hands a lot. She also uses a dummy. I have been using calpol, dentinox and nelsons teetha powder, I'm about to try Anbesol in an attempt to help ease the pain.

My greatest worry is that she is hardly feeding, she gets weighed fortnightly and is slowly putting on weight, but over the last two weeks its a struggle to get an ounce down her at some feeds and then she wriggles around and vomits it back up, it's so upsetting to see. She has infacol before a feed which seems to ease her wind, she also gets hiccups quite a lot.

Over the past week she has become difficult to settle, when she used to be great at self settling, whether this is just due to her age or through her not feeding i don't know,

Any advice greatly appreciated.

has your doctor checked her out for reflux? I am no expert but that sounds much like reflux. maybe search here for it..

I think its quite common that it gets missed too (sadly).

Hardandsleazy- When DD was 6 weeks old she projectile vomitted quite badly, I being a new (neurotic) mother took her to the walk in clinic, the Doc said that it is normal for a baby to possett at very feed and dismissed it when we suggested reflux, I'm very tempted to book an appointment with our Doc though as it's getting worse :(

dd didnt have reflux and did occasionally projectile vomit (she could be a real pig on cluster feeds) but this was maybe 3/4 times in her whole life. I would go back as sounds like you know its not right (as opposed to my piglet dd who could shovel milk down her in a way that was obvious that there was only way it was coming out.. and I am sorry but possett is not projectile vomit - posset is the odd bit of sick over your shoulder -not the exorcist impression .)
