Ending breast feeding - help!

Hi
I have stopped breast feeding ds due to getting mastitis twice in the same breast. I reduced my supply gradually and have not breastfed for about a week now. Now I have a really lumpy boob - the one which had mastitis twice - some lumps are small and some big.
I don't feel as though I have mastitis, though some of the lumps are uncomfortable.
Is this part and parcel of giving up breastfeeding?

:)

Sounds like blocked ducts, which can lead to mastitis but might not.

when stopping breast feeding, how do you prevent your boobs from becoming blocked/lumpy?

massage the lump under a warm shower?

will that produce milk? I have been avoiding the warmth as I thought it would increase the likely hood of let down?

probably will a bit - but am thinking it won't match stimulation from baby. Will probably take a little while to clear out completely - not a one shower thing but over the week or maybe more even depending on what supply you had last.
Am guessing a bit though and trying to remember what I did last time.
