14 week old sleep...

My 14 week old LO is feeding around 8:30pm,1/2am,4/5am give or take an hour oneach sometimes,
Then from the 5/6ish feed we'll both go back to sleep until 8/9am... Which is nice as its still dark in the mornings
But I end up feeling more tired somehow and my DD... - is this a reason why she doesn't go through as such
Because we're having that long lie in?
She normally wakes at 9:30,feed,play,feed every 2hourly in the nap and have about 3 naps?depending on
What were doing (baby cafe, baby massage, baby groups, shopping etc) she may nap longer on the move..

I think she is doing well, she's kind of made her own routine fit to our lives really.
At newborn stage she wouldn't properly go down for the night until 11/12, now she's ready for bed by 830/9..
HOWEVER, we have some busy evenings - which I think throw her out a bit because we don't get in sometimes until 10pm..
So she has disturbed sleep.

I've forgotten why I was writing this now lol....

1.How does your 14week old sleep? (- know every baby is different)
Only asking as my DD does this .ostly but then will sleep through one week?

  1. Do you change your 14 week olds nappy in the night?
(I feel guilty is I don't atleast once??!! :-s

I think she's doing well so far, she doesn't cry for her feeds, just wingy coos or hand chomping or routing
And she feeds for 5/10 mins at night feeds but goes right back off..

Really sorry if this seems pointless

My 13 week old DS goes to sleep between 7 and 8. I feed him st 10.30pm when I go to bed, though occasionally he has woken before this. He then wakes (and is fed) at about 3ish and 5ish, wakes for the day at 8 (on the dot!). Feeds during the day every 2 and a half hours ish. Naps 9.30ish for about 45mins, 12.30 for longer and 3ish for longer too.

Sorry for all the ishes but he is quite variable, and of course if we are out and about this changes things.

Last night he only woke and fed at 3.30 and 7.30. But a few nights ago it was 12, 2, 4 and 6!

He has never slept through Sad.
And no nappy change during the night unless he poos (he is a noisy pooer so you can't miss it!) Grin

No idea if any of that helps you.

Meant to say that his daytime sleep never seems to effect his nightime sleep. For example a couple of days ago his naps were messed up cos of errands/visitors etc and he ended up sleeping from 4 til 6.30pm, but he was still ready to go down for the night by 7.30pm.

My Ds is a bit older (4months) but seems to have a similar pattern. Like yours, a few weeks ago we used to put him down between 9pm and 10pm but now he goes down at 7.30pmish, dream feed at 10.30pmish, feed at 3amish and wake up at 7.30amish.
DS went through the night from 8 weeks but since he's had a cold (5 weeks ago) he doesn't anymore. I try to be philosophical about it, he will go through again.
I only change him if he's done a poo (which seems to be every night at 3 these days Hmm.
I noticed that broken sleep is an absolute killer, as in if I sleep even 10 hours but wake up every 3 hours or so, I am pretty tired the next day.

Hmmmm, philosophical? I'll try that! Grin

Thanks for your replies.

DD doesnt ever "wake", she just stirs lots, so i soothe her with dummy for a while, then if she wakes again i feed her, she takes about 5mins, but then i feel her nappy and its full of wee, she wees loads! but doesnt poo as much (use to poo every 9 days, now it fluctuates from every morning, to every other day, to once every three days etc, never in the night (yet))

I just feel guilty leavingher in a wet nappy, which i know is silly because she will be in nappies until abotu 2 and i dont want to still be doing it at that age once a night! i was changing it at the one or two feeds, where as the last three nights i have just whipped a new nappy on after the 2am ish feed then not again until her 9:30ish feed?

Tittybonjangles - love the name lol
Its the same with me, the "ISH" times, always differs by like an hour or so...

I also find that now DD is getting bigger, she will want to feed every 2 hours or less from like 5- her bed time (which i dont mind at all) and she does do a good chunk (goes through till 2/3 ish.. then then she'll start stirring at 4/5? sometimes she does go through but more often she'll want more milk sooner.

again - i dont mind, it is my job after all Wink

elsieR

i found that DD got a bit unsettled after her 12 week jabs, her first lot she was fine, where as the 12 week ones she wanted to feed more, got upset easily (so out of character for her) she probably thought "what the hell are these........tears :( )

she luckily has only had a sniffly nose, nothing else touch wood
