can i keep my frozen breast milk? I usually end up freezing 20oz a week but luckly havent needed to use it yet but thought it might come in handy when weaning for baby rice etc...but as my ds is only 8 weeks old how long can i keep it in my freezer 4?

I have no idea what temp my freezer is, it just has 3 draws (i keep it in the bottom)and has 5 stars on the door and 2 are in a circle if that means anything!!

Some people say 3 months and some say 6 months...surely it'll be ok for 6 months as its frozen?

I have an NHS fridge magnet that says it can be kept in the freezer for 6 months.

I think it is 1 month for ice compartments within fridge, 3 months for freezers which are attached to a fridge, and 6 months for standalone freezers because they differ in temp.

IIRC someone somewhere on here once advised me that the quality and consistency of your breast milk changes all the time and that some babies may not like/take milk that you expressed months before but I'm sure someone else will come along who can confirm/knows more! Smile
