Biting the boob that feeds! Ouch

DS is about 6.5 months old, has one tooth and has started biting. We feed on demand and he has just started weaning. Really don't want the faff of formula, but really really don't want my boobs bitten. I fed his sister until she was 22 months, can remember being bitten a couple of times but don't remember what I did about it. He has bitten about half a dozen times over the last week. It really hurts.

It hurts doesn't it! We are the similar, DS is 6 months and had two bottom teeth since 5 mo old. I was advised by a friend to make a loud noise and put them down for a few minutes and ideally get someone else (if they are around DH?) to pick them up. After his first few experimental nips we did this a few times and (touch wood, please don't jinx myself) I haven't been bitten since. I made him cry the first time unintentionally as he bit so hard I couldn't stop myself screaming. It didn't break the flesh but I had two little perfect tooth marks on my poor old nipple Shock

However I do wonder if he would have settled down and stopped biting anyway as it was only as the teeth were coming through that he was gnawing everything including me! Hope it settles soon!

Yup, DD is doing this too. I say ouch really loudly snd she looks at me in absolute shock.

Thanks, is definitely teething related, he's got one so far - 19 to go!

I stopped the feed but didn't actually put him down, will try that.
