Sippy cup or not?

Am starting to think about weaning DD in the next month or so. She's 4 months and bottle fed. Wondering whether to get her a sippy cup or a "normal" cup. There seem to be arguments for and against the sippy. Be grateful if anyone could share their thoughts and experiences. Thanks!

I used a free-flowing lidded cup for mine and when I felt they were ready I took the lid off and they used it like a normal cup but with handles. I used the tommee tippee first cup (didnt like the doidy cup)

Same as Seona, I offered my DD a simple free flowing cup.

I think at 4 months a normal cup might be a bit too much. DD had a sippy cup, but thats because I couldn't find any free flow cups over here. Now at 10.5 months we have it without the lid. She can drink half of it OK, but once she's done then it just gets poured everywhere. We give it without lid when she's in her high chair and in a bottle with a large hole in otherwise (so it's almost like a free flow)
