Breastfeeding and losing weight

What I have read just suggests you shouldn't lose 'too much' weight while breastfeeding, how much is too much?

I am not the best dieter Smile so expect it won't be masses or anything. I am about three stone overweight probably and don't intend to try and lose all that now but would like to concentrate on losing one stone at maybe a pound a week, does that seem reasonable?

I was going to do a low GI diet and just exercise walking the baby in the buggy.

This won't affect my supply will it?

Eating healthily and exercising is fine, starving yourself isn't!

here is a link from kellymom about dieting.

Sounds like you're taking a sensible approach - you'd have to be really malnourished for it to affect your supply.

I have lost a lot of weight very quickly. I was 82kg post-birth (before I ever had kids I was always 81kgs - 10kgs overweight) and now 8wks later, I'm 75kgs.

I must admit to erratic eating because I'm juggling baby and a toddler so meals are not always easy but I do eat heartily and can't say I'm ever really hungry. Baby is happily piling on the pounds so my supply is fine despite the weight loss. I think I just have a lot of excess fat that my body can use!

I would say to watch your water intake more than anything - I always feel a lack of water more than food
