Taking medicine while bf'ing

Not sure if this is the right place to post this query. Just wondering if now that I'm only bf'ing ds morning & night if it's ok to take medicines such as lemsip, anadin etc. I'm going down with a stinking cold & paracetamol is just not cutting the mustard - I really need something stronger but all the packaging says not to take while bf'ing. DS is 9mths old now & only takes a small bf first thing in morning at 7ish and before bed at 6.30ish.

I don't think you can have lemsip because I think it has aspirin in, I would check the ingredients though. Ibuprofen is OK for occasional use, would that help?
