BF, sickness bug and oversupply....

My DD (18 weeks, but 12 weeks corrected as 6 weeks early) has just had a sickness bug. I fed throughout to keep her hydrated. She's now no longer being sick, lasted about 24 hours, but still has foul nappies- v pale/green/mucousy.

The main concerns have arisen because she isn't interested in feeding today, she's been snacking but is then totally overwhelmed by my bonkers letdown and forceful sprays of milk.

So do I need to do anything? I've been letting letdown happen then when she pulls off waiting for the flow to subside, but she's then not interested in latching back on. I tried expressing a wee bit and then offering her soft boobs, but crazy letdown still happened, arghhhh...Any advice or reassurance greatly appreciated!

You can try block feeding to help with the let down

Does she seem otherwise ok?

You could try expressing for a few minutes to take off the worst of it and letting her nurse with you lying down. That can help. Otherwise don't stress, she'll nurse when she's hungry. :)

Ds recently (at 18 weeks) had a virus and fed very little one day. Boobs were full but I did nothing (am lazy). They were back to noraml within a couple of days.
