How often do babies poo?

DS is 6 months old. He was ebf up until he was 4 1/2 months. By then he was only pooping once every 5 or 6 days.
He is now mixed fed and eating solids. When he started solids a month ago he pooped maybe once a day.
Now he is pooping up to 4 times a day!
Is this normal?

That does sound a lot but then only pooping once ever 5 days is also no something I experienced. As long as he's happy I would go with it.

Sounds just like DD2 - she is 7 months and was a regular once a day-er but recently it is 3 or 4 a day but she seems happy and not in any discomfort at all so have assumed it was just normal for her.

Yes us too. DS is 7 months and just getting up and running with 3 meals a day, feels like every nappy has a pebble in it !

Us too. DD is 8 months and used to explode poop only once every 3 or 4 days before solids.

Now 3 or 4 smaller ones a day.

That's good to hear. He doesn't seem to be in any discomfort so I assume it's all fine.

DS is doing the same - almost every nappy has a little surprise in it.

I prefer it to the poo-splosions we used to get when he just ate breast milk.
