Will my giant boobs ever stop growing?!!!

5 months now, and it looks like I've gone up yet another cup size. Bought some nice, expensive, feeding bras at 10 weeks, thinking that they would have settled down, but I'm oozing out of them. I haven't put any weight on, in fact I've lost a lot off my ribs, so it looks like I may have gone down a back size and up a cup size (making me a 34G fgs). What's going on? I thought they got smaller.

Afraid to say that your milk-filled boobs will probably be bigger than your pregnancy boobs. I am guessing you are a first-timer to have bought feeding bras at 10 weeks! Grin. Bra shops don't usually advise that you buy feeeding bras until 36 weeks or so.

Also, as well as your cup measurement, your chest measurement will almost certainly expand quite a bit more as the baby pushes up into your rib cage, so I wouldn't be surprised if you are a 36G or 36GG by 40 weeks pregnant. My chest measurement was at least a size bigger when I had my DD (I couldn't put certain tight fitting coats, jumpers etc on!).

I would put aside the feeding bras for now (keep them just in case they do fit later on), and just get some non-underwired bras to fit you now. If you get maternity bras they have lots of clasps at the back so you can adjust the chest size as your ribs expand. Mothercare had a sale on a couple of weeks ago and I stocked up on half price bras (5 months pregnant myself with my second child).

Sorry I wasn't clear enough. DS is 5 months old, I bought bras when he was 10 weeks old.

Incidentally I was a 34DD before pregnancy, 36E during and 36F once BF was initially established.

That sounds about right. Remember that the cup size of a 36F will be the same as for a 34G. Bras with larger back sizes have larger cups, so a 38B will have significantly larger cups than a 34B. It's very confusing and I don't know why they do it like that but they do. So you will have lost weight around your ribs and your boobs have probably stayed the same size.

FWIW I was 36A whilst pregnant and increased to 34E (still have the bra tags as a memento, such was my disbelief!)up until about 7 months, when I deflated to a very un-perky 34B Hmm. Still bf, so may still deflate further!

Wish mine would deflate, im with OP, my ds is 6mths still bfing and mine are still giant even though I have lost 2st since birth.

When do they get smaller and more managable?

Porcelain · 22/01/2011 14:44

Ah, I hadn't thought about it that way, there's hope there. I'm just a bit worried they will get bigger and bigger until they are HUGE, then deflate like hot air balloons when I stop feeding Grin

I actually just remeasured my back measurement, and it's an inch smaller than it was pre-pregnancy, when I was 2 dress sizes smaller, and only half an inch bigger than my waist, which is 4" bigger than pre pregnancy. It's like I got a who new figure and it's all tits and arse with skinny ribs and arms. I just expected to be bigger but of similar proportions except the boobs!

Oh sorry - totally assumed you were 5 months pregnant! Ignore everything I said!! Grin

Afraid my breasts did deflate gradually after I stopped BF and got smaller than they were pre-pregnancy. Now pregnant again and they are zooming up the cup sizes again!
