...can I keep the ones I've used for DD and save them to be used for DC2 or should you buy new ones for each DC?

I figure if you've sterilised them then there shouldn't be any problem. But then I was happy to use a second-hand breast pump too (sterilised of course). DD is 2.7yrs now and has hardly had any tummy upsets at all (in her life!).

Thanks wigeon, will bag them up and keep them then.

I recomend not to as the material can deteriate and get weak. Also the manufacters tend to say they should be replaced every few months.

I wouldnt re-use teats but would re-use bottles. The manufacturers also say to replace them regularly for hygiene reasons

Wigeon · 21/01/2011 21:29

Obviously the manufacturers want you to replace them Smile. Does sterilisation get less effective over time do you think? (I'm actually not sure of the answer).

I can't see the issue if it's to do with deterioration. Surely the worst that could happen is that milk starts leaking, or the teat holes get too big? And you'd buy a new one.

if there ok no scratches or tears then keep them, if theres any them bin them. I've heard milk can get stuck in tears/scratches which is why they should be thrown
