DD2 has problems with reflux although I do think this is improving. BF has been constant battle with screaming and writhing around on the breast. Now at 5mo I'm still feeding in the night every 1-2 hours, I'm exhausted and also have 3yo DD1 to look after. Feeding whilst out is a nightmare. I also think she's just a snacker as actually timed her feeds and longest night feed is 9mins and longest day feed is 3mins!!! Just awful I wish she would lazily feed off me so I can relax. I went to baby cinema this morning whilst DD1 in pre-school had to leave half way through as she wouldn't feed and was unsettling the other sleeping babies. Came home and she did another 2 minute feed. She is gaining weight although I haven't had her weighed lately. Is it normal to feed for such short periods? Am on the verge of giving up.

Sorry you are having trouble, you've done great getting to 5 months if you've been finding it so hard.

I can't really advise you but have you taken her to the GP/HV/BF councillor? My baby fed very quickly but wasn't unsettled, she was just an very efficient feeder.

My DS is similar (only 11 weeks tho) initially I thought it was an oversupply/fast let down prob so block nursed for a while which helped. Now its definately a reflux prob and Gaviscon is really helping. Is your DD on any meds for the reflux? I am also very Envy of the mums feeding away for ages with babies falling asleep on them, on the other hand they are probably Envy that it doesnt take us 40 mins for a feed.. we can't win really!
