My Medela swing motor seems to have burnt out (half-way through the working day too, with two more pumping sessions before I can get home to my baby!). I have panic-bought another one to be delivered express tomorrow, BUT --

Given I'm going to be pumping twice a day every day, and all day two days (sometimes three) a week, should I be hiring a hospital-quality one instead? Is the Medela Symphony good? (I've just bought a stack load of Medela bottles and cool bags, so don't really want to switch.)

By the by, I am the only mother at my son's nursery who has EVER expressed, apparently.

I don't think you need a hospital grade pump, but a double would be much better than a single. The in style www.medela.com/IW/en/breastfeeding/products/pumping/pump-in-style-advance.html is great.

sorry, here

I've got an Ameda Lactaline if you're interested....

Medela bottles fit the ameda I'm currently using fwiw. A double pump makes a huge difference

I've had a medela swing do that, I fixed it by washing it out as per the problem solving instructions. I've had mothers use this solely for expressing so if may be ok after a cleaning.

I will feel VERY dumb if it just needs cleaning Blush -- DH is having a go now while DS has a BIG guzzle
