How do I clean my steriliser??

OK, I know the obvious answer is "turn it on and sterilise it..." but just wondering if there's something else I should do. I haven't expressed for a week or so and stupidly didn't wipe it out last time I used it (it's the Tommee Tippee steam one). The damp has made a few black mould spots grow. I've wiped it with a cloth and they've all come off, but should I clean it with something before using it again?

Actually, I didn't realise I had to sterilise the steriliser until I heard a woman in Boots ask if she could use the tablets in it to sterilise hers.

However, every now and again I give it a wipe down with antibac wipes, give it a clean over the sink with hot soapy water, rinse and then fill and put in some Milton before emptying and rinsing again. No idea if this is what you're supposed to do but it seems to keep it clean (before I did it the first time I looked closely round the rim and there was a bit of pink mulch - oooops). We've got the Tommee Tippee one too.

my steriliser needs descaling as our water is so hard - that helps the bottom of it ( ours is Tommee Tippee too!). Also washing in hot soapy water did the trick in getting it clean. I would say sterilise it with nothing in it before using again, if you remember!
