That's it, i bloody give up!!! dd 9 months, bf exclusively, co slept with average 4/5 feeds a night and has been with me pretty much 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the whole time. I have done this with NO support, I'm going through a majorly stressful time aside from the bf issues. I just CANNOT do it anymore. I have lost so much weight and I'm shattered.

Have tried to express but cant.

Please can someone tell me, how do i stop, without causing dd to much distress???

Really didnt want it to come to this, but im only bloody human!.

theratpack - I'm in the same boat too. Have posted on here loads about DD's bad sleeping. Enjoy BFing in the daytime but cannot cope with the hourly night wakings anymore! I know I need to stop the night feeds but she gets sooo upset when I try pick up/ put down or send DH in - I feel like such a meanie I end up feeding her again Sad Was actually thinking today it would be easier to stop BF all together . . .

Re. the controlled crying or no cry solution.

I actually did more of a pick up put down (a la Baby Whisperer, Tracy Hogg)
I found standing in the room with my side profile to DC and waiting for them to settle and go to sleep worked. I'd pick DC up if they were really hysterical and cuddle and calm and then put back into cot. Till eventually they realise your not going to take them into your bed and they sort of get all cried out. Your in the room so they don't feel so alone and can relax knowing that your watching over them.
With some determination you will get there.

It's worth working out whether your baby is one who increases tension by crying or releases tension by crying. PUPD and NCSS tend to work better for tension increasers, whereas CC tends to be better for tension releasers IMO.

Kellymom weaning info is here, including night weaning stuff.

And there's lots more info on PUPD here.

I am so glad I'm not the only one going crazy! DS is 13 months now, and i'm absolutly exhausted! same with the weightloss too (would normally be a good thing)! but the thought of stopping is exhausting enough, i can never keep my eyes open long enough to put him back in the cot :(

If DD won't settle (because she just goes for the breasts) then DH has her. 'Tis the agreement. Yeah some nights it's rough but he also gets nights off.

Thankyou for the links!!! i love MN Grin such great support and knowing I'm not the only one, is a comfort!

DD now has got chicken pox's!!! soooo I'm even more shattered. I will have to hold off on the night weaning till she is better.

Why are some of us losing weight?? is it due to the calories burnt off by b/f? I also developed a kind of dermatitis on my knees, inner ear and elbow, since i started b/f. What is that about??
