Medical knowledge about everything is constantly evolving and it is important that studies do not stop or are not hushed up. You take what you need out of them.
This is why it is imo it is important to give a much more balanced and informative view of infant feeding knowledge and studies to new mums. we aren't all stupid - we can handle it!

Yes it's important that the public know about the breadth of research into breastfeeding, but it's the job of the highly trained scientists who sit on government advisory committees to look at all the evidence and make recommendations - not one for journalists, who don't examine or report every piece of research, just the ones that will lead to sensational headlines and controversy.

'Balanced and informative' is what you get from long term studies carried out by professionals, and backed by the weight of organisations like the UN (who say breastfeed for a bare minimum of 6 months). It is not what you get from journalists who are scouring journals for one-off pieces of research that might make headlines.
