3-4 a day :o explosive runny and orange!

BaggedandTagged · 12/01/2011 10:51

DS is 4 months and I am still waiting for the promised fall in poo frequency from 4 a day.

Apparently exclusively bf babies rarely become constipated. I have a friend who's baby is also an infrequent pooer.

nearly 6 weeks and every 90 blinking minutes...

cashewsmummy · 12/01/2011 12:34

DD - 11 weeks old, bottle fed. 1-2 a day sometimes misses a day. As long as your DD is well and not in discomfort, should be ok. A little organic prune juice will shift constipation and tummy massage. Well done on saving planet and not going through shed loads of nappies!!

ginger2000 · 12/01/2011 14:11

all the flippin' time - up to 10 times a day! Has been like this since she was born (now 15 weeks) - every time I think they are slowing down, we have a crazy day! Dr and Hv say this is normal too! Costing me an absolute fortune in nappies and is making the night times hideous!

Lynzjam · 12/01/2011 14:13

Aww ginger that must be pants!

My DD can go from having a poo every other day, to going about a week then has an explosion!

Woodlands · 12/01/2011 14:18

my 25 week old has never been a frequent pooer - often only every 5-10 days. He's had two short periods of pooing after every feed, i think linked to colds, but apart from that it's very infrequent. even now we have started introducing solids it's still only every 3-4 days.

i think we are the lucky ones - changing a pooey nappy is still almost a novelty to me!

MoonUnitAlpha · 12/01/2011 14:25

Breastfed babies can go anything from 10 times a day to once every 10 days.

DuelingFanjo · 12/01/2011 14:46

3 weeks and about 5-6 times a day, sometimes more.

Guacamole · 12/01/2011 14:51

My DS at that age was about 5-8 times a day but my nephew (same age) was once a week... every Thursday, it was quite funny.

TanteRose · 12/01/2011 14:52

my DD - all the time (awful nappy rash..Sad)

my DS - every 10 days (nappy from HELL!) Grin

both EBF

Guacamole · 12/01/2011 14:53

Both were breastfed by the way.

my daughter is 13 wks and only poops evert 2-3 days, my doc said to give her sugar in water, but health visitor said no to give her fresh orange juice or prune juice in water.
i found the sugar water worked best though!

redandyellowandpinkandgreen · 12/01/2011 15:17

Nearly every time he is fed! DS is 8 weeks and EBF. Probably at least 8 times a day.

BananaSundae · 12/01/2011 16:46

Up until about 5 months, my DD went 6-8 times a day (occasionally 10 Shock ) At 10 months she is now on 1-3 a day and there were even a few days last week where there was no poo at all so for those of you that have frequent pooers it does get better!!

ginger2000 · 12/01/2011 20:16

Banana, its good to hear it slows down. might help her sleep better (wishful thinking!) it is funny how different they can be.

EatingSwansHorror · 12/01/2011 20:25

DD once went 16 days without pooing. HV was really good about it and didn't intervene - apparently very normal in BF babies. The result on day 17 was pretty awesome though!

Giddyup · 12/01/2011 22:05

every 3-4 days at about 4pm... I think she just uses every bit to grow as she was just over 10lb at birth and hasn't stopped feeding since. She is mainly BF. Its great, a pack of nappies lasts an age and she has never ever had a dirty nappy in the night-bliss! Smile
