Some of you may remember this breastfeeding blog. And for those that don't, it's rather brilliant... No it's not mine!

Anyhoo... it's back and she's blogging again

Aw, shucks Blush

I'm really enjoying it - although I wish I didn't have to be writing the stuff I am re what's in the news at the moment!

Mars, look away, you might blush...

See what happened when we saw Clare Byam-Cook at The Baby Show last week

Brilliant (yet depressing) article. I just cannot understand how this woman gets away with spouting this stuff.

Oh, and that quote from Mars was probably the one thing that I really needed to read today. Smile

Love this blog.

I really found the CBC stuff so difficult to read. Makes me mad. Argh!

Marslady are you the Mars in the blog? What you said about babies learning to sleep when they are ready whether they are screamed there or loved there bought a tear to my eye. My 2.3 year old has just stopped asking for a bf to go to sleep - choosing to cuddle a favourite emergency vehicle (or 3) instead! It has been a long road but he has done it all by himself in his own time. I have given him all the cuddles and bf he has wanted and he still got there. No rods! I don't regret any of it!

Thank you!

I love the scream/love quote - it's just perfect and should be the motto for all parents, I think.

You know I think I need to re-read that CBC "What to expect..." book. When I read it eons ago it actually seemed to make a lot of sense to me, but that was in the absence of any sensible advice and I was a desperate woman! I have given my copy away - feel kind of guilty for inflicting it on anyone now. Anyhow I think I need to re-read it knowing what I know now!

crikeybadger · 22/02/2011 09:30

I re-read the Baby Whisperer when I had DC3 16 months ago and I picked holes in the all the breastfeeding advice. However, 6 years ago with DC1 most of it made complete sense.

I guess advice does change over time as more research is done as to how breastfeeding works best. The trouble is the some people handing out the advice don't seem to have kept up to speed with these changes.

Lovely blog! I'm here snuggled up with my little DD reading it.
