This may not be a feeding related issue but thought I'd post here anyway to benefit from you lovely knowledgable types :)
DS is nearly 19 weeks old, ebf. Nights are pretty terrible at the mo (and have been deteriorating for about the last 5 weeks). I don't think it's generally hunger that's waking him, although I do feed him frequently in the night. He used to start shuffling and grunting, I'd wake and feed him, he'd go back to sleep. Almost never cried in the night. Now he often starts crying a few mintues after going to sleep. Sometimes white noise will send him back off, sometime a cuddle, and sometimes only a feed will do. He wakes crying even if he's in the bed with me (he normally sleeps in his cot right next to my bed).
He also almost always wakes crying from a nap and can often only be soothed by feeding even when I'm sure he's not really hungry. I've watched him and he'll start squirming in his sleep, then crying (eyes still shut) and won't stop even on being picked up and cuddled. Once he's calmed down though he's a very smiley and cheerful little thing and never really cries when awake unless he's tired.
I have no idea what's causing this but am finding it really upsetting :(
Any ideas?
