breastfeeding with ear infection

Hello, I'm new to this. Been really upset and worried as I have a terrible ear infection in both ears and have been prescribed antibiotics and eardrops. I feel so guilty about taking medication whilst breast feeding but don't want to stop and change to formula after all the hard work I put in for the first 2 months. Baby girl is 3 1/2 months now and finally bf is going really well. Has anyone else had a similar experience or taken anti-biotic ear drops? I'm so scared that I might harm little one and have been crying constantly because my ears are in agony so desperately want and need to get better but feel so worried about taking all this medicine. Sorry to moan.

I havent had an ear infection when bf but I did take antibiotics for tonsilitis (erthyrmycin I think) when bf ds.

If the medication is safe to take when bf then dont feel guilty, just focus on getting better. Seriously, when ds was 3, so a while after I had finshed bf I got a middle ear infection, it was Xmas and I faffed and didnt get treated straight away, I was ill for months with dizziness and loss of balance etc. Get well soon.
