FF and descaling the kettle

Hi Everyone,
Am FF DD and need to de-scale the kettle. Can I use "normal" appliance descaler or do I need to use citric acid, like I do when I de-scale the steriliser? My gut feeling is citric acid, but I'm concerned that's not goign to be as effective. What does everyone else do?
Thanks!

To be honest, I was suffering from such serious prescious first born syndrome I .... I ..... I bought a new kettle every time the liemscale built up as I was so worried about decsaler containating his feed. How bad is that!

So, in answer to your question, I really cnt help!

I have to de-scale my kettle literally eery week as the water here is so hard. DS2 is only 6 weeks but I have been using the normal kettle descaler but then boiling the kettle and refilling it 3 times afterwards before using it for his milk.

toddlerwrangler - that is so funny.

We use citric acid.

I use white vinegar. Fill the kettle with half and half white vinegar and water, boil and leave overnight. Completely gone by morning.

Just don't forget to rinse it in the morning and leave it for the pil to make tea with Blush
