Pain in breast - please help!

Merry Xmas everyone!

My early present this year (apart from stinking cold) is a sore breast which feels bruised and tender in the upper part near the armpit and above the breast. I'm trying to drain it as much as I can. Is it just clogged or beginnings of mastitis?

My baby is 6 weeks and feeding every 3 hours more or less although seemingly a bit more last night (maybe starting a growth spurt).

Please help - I don't want to get mastitis over xmas!!

Thank you! xx

sounds like mastitis. I mine started same way few days ago. feed lots from that side, massage from top to nipple while feeding and expressing after each feed. massage and hand express in hot shower. all will help (and hurt) but chances are you will need anti biotics to clear it as I did. you want to try and get them before the flu like symptoms floor you.
call nhs 24 and tell them what you think you have. they should be able to set up an actual appountment at a hospital or open surgery tomorrow for you so you can see a doctor. good luck and merry Christmas. x

could well just be a blocked duct, have a look at this from kellymom to help you figure it out. Hope it hasn't spoiled Christmas for you!
