How long to give a new formula?

does anyone have any ideas as to how long you should try a new milk before trying something else. I moved onto C&G Omneo Comfort as it has much less lactose, and Colief drops had been really helping on prior milk - but DS still starts screaming mid way through feed as though i am poisoning him! He's been on it for 5 days now. any advice gratefully received!

Do you burp him halfway through? Or more often? Some babies get very windy.

Which bottle are you using? You could try the Mam ones or Dr Brown's?

I had exactly the same experience, my daughter is now four months but around 2 months I tried the Omneo, it was a nightmare, she was screaming all the way through every feed. I put her back onto Aptimel after about 5-6 days (I called up the HV at the time to check this was ok to do and it was). Hope this helps!

i've got the mam and dr brown bottles - i think it is wind as he has always had trouble burping. my gut feel is that the milk is not agreeing with him, but i'm not sure whether i am giving it enough time after 5 days.

After I put her back onto Aptimel she did settle down again.
I also use the Dr Browns and went to a variflow teat to cope with the thicker omneo milk but I found it was hopeless (she practicaly drowned in milk) I did think that might have been the problem at first, so changed to level 2 after day one of Omneo ...still screamed! It was awful, at that age its the one thing they should enjoy and it was obviously uncomfortable for her.

thanks, i will try him back on the old one - the doctor keeps harping on about not swapping milk so i got scared!
