Screaming after being fed on both breasts :(

My lo is 5 weeks old and is breastfed. In the last week or so she has been constantly feeding in the evenings. For the last 6 evenings I have been feeding from 6pm - 10pm constant and when she comes off at 10pm, she is still rooting. I dont know what to do. One night I had to give her formula just so that I could go to sleep, she took the bottle and fell asleep and didnt wake till 4 hours later for her next feed.
I feel my son is losing out in the evenings as I cant do anything with ie bath him etc as I am feeding :(
ALso today after her morning feed at 9am, she did the same thing, screamed and started rooting for more fod even though she had both breasts. I know I have milk as I express twice a day and get around 80ml.
I am wondering whether she is getting any milk out or she is just a very hungry baby.

Sounds like a growth spurt to me, LO is trying to up your supply. Best thing is just to go with it and you WILL come out the other side. DD did the 6-10pm thing for her first 8 weeks, it gradually got better.

Have you tried just offering the breast again when she starts rooting again? My DS cluster fed a lot during those early weeks and it did seem like all did was sit and feed and then feed some more and then again. It did get better eventually and is totally normal

This is how they tell your body they need more milk. And milk is constantly made as they feed. Sometimes they go through phases of feeding very frequently indeed. You can offer 3, 4 + sides per feed. I always tried to make things as easy for me as possible. Feeding lying down so I could snooze, snacks and drinks to hand and trusted that dd knew what she needed.

It won't last forever and is normal behaviour assuming your baby is gaining weight and pooing/weeing and alert.

Cluster feeding in the early days is very normal.

I'd agree with the above that it could well be a growth spurt.

Can you feed her in a sling so you have your hands free for your DS? The slings & backpacks talk board is a good place to get recommendations.

Has she been checked for tongue tie? how is her weight gain? HCP's missed my DD's as it was

My DS roots even when hes not hungry, he just has a thing for having something in his mouth!

Do you go back to the first breast? Neither of mine were ever satisfied with just two sides in the evenings for the first six-seven weeks or so; it was back and forward from one side to the other for ages and ages.
