I'm having to leave dd3 a few times in the next few weeks & although should be able to feed her before after it's made me aware I'm going to have to try a bottle at some point. She has taken a little from a cup but doubt we would manage a full feed that way.

When I go to work on mon I can send dh to bigger boots ( only tiny one here) so will need specific instructions of what to get!

we are big fans of Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles here.DD is FF and we have used them since she was about 12 weeks old.
My freind has been BFing her little boy with a daily EBF using the tommee tippee bottles and her little one took to them very well.

I like the Dr Browns bottles, but that's due to their anti-colic features rather than their nipples (they are a bit long and tube like). Hope that helps.

I started with the TT Closer to Nature bottles but worried they were actually a bit too "easy" as DS didn't have to work at all to get the milk out - though really with very occasional bottles the baby wouldn't have time to develop a preference for bottle over breast. Switched to Breastflow bottles anyway as the teat is supposed to mimic breastfeeding - they have to compress and suck to get the milk out rather than just suck.

We used Tommy Tippee Closer to nature too eith DS1 & DS2.

DS1 had a bottle of EBF at about 8 weeks with no problems, no nipple confision etc. DS2 from about 1 week (not so precious second time round!!)

We were using TT closer to nature for 3 EBM feeds a week until 9 weeks when DD decided that she didn't like them anymore and started to refuse. We then tried everything else on the Market to no avail. Then yesterday we received a delivery of playtex bottles with latex nipples that a friend sent us and hey presto!! What a relief.

Cosmosis · 10/12/2010 16:38

We have the TT ones as well.

If I have to feed from a bottle I also use the breastflow bottles.

Pretty definate recommendations! Will look for both & see what she thinks

ds (19 wks) has been going to nursery 3 days a week since 6 weeks old. We use a mix of TT closer to nature (they have an anti-colic variant that we use) and Breastflow. He doesn't seem to have a preference to one particular brand, so we tend to use the 'front of the cupboard' selection process :)
Hope you find one that works!
