Stopped BF...breast really lumpy

I stopped BF a week ago....I gradually reduced and dropped feeds over a period of about 3 weeks then finally stopped about 6 days ago. Right breast has coped fine but left breast is hard, lumpy and misshapen. Not red or inflamed but sore to the touch and very lumpy. I've hand expressed to relieve pressure but no milk comes out...just clear/yellow sugary water. Should I be worried? I thought it would have dried up after a week. Thanks for any advice.

Hi there, seeing as we both posted questions about very similar issues yesterday, and neither of us got a reply, I thought I'd reply to you!
It sounds to me as though you may need to see a doctor, as it could be you've developed an infection. I've finally managed to get an appointment to see my doc on Monday.

Hi varmit - I got to see my doctor yesterday and she gave me some tablets that stop milk production. I've started taking them but no change as yet....was in so much pain this morning that I gave in and expressed about 70ml an now feel sooo much better. Good luck at the doctors!!!
