DD (18 weeks) was introduced to the bottle at 2 weeks and for a period of around 4 weeks was almost exclusively bottle fed. I managed to get back to bfing once she stopped falling asleep after two sucks but kept one bottle of ebm / occasionally ff a day at the dream feed. She also had the occasional bottle during the day when I was in a situation where it wouldn't be easy to get my boobs out or on the odd time when I was having a crisis of confidence with supply. She always seemed happy to go between boob and bottle and didn't seem to care if it was ebm or ff. However, over last few weeks she's been taking less and less at her dream feed (and subsequently sleeping less well but that's another thread). She either just keeps her mouth open and refuses to suck or really fussed until she eventually wakes me up and I end up bfing. The last few bottles I've tried during the day she has only managed 1-2 oz and the rest has ended up down the sink Sad. I'm starting to get worried now as I am going to be away for a couple of days just before she is 6 months and go back to work at 8 months. I'm so surprised by this as she has always had a bottle and really don't know what to do. Anyone had experience of this? TIA

very common at this age - we have just solved the problem with a nuk bottle

thanks Zimm did wonder if it's an awareness thing as she's come on developmentally loads recently. Have been using TT CTN bottles. What were you using befor the nuk?

Our 12 weeks old also started to feed less and less with a bottle a couple of weeks ago and now won't take it at all. Very frustrating as I have already booked a session at the velodrome next week but if I go she may scream for food for two hours whilst I'm away. Can I try a beaker type cup with a spout, meant for older babies? I guess with this sort of cup the milk would pour out, so she wouldn't have to 'suck'? I have noiced that when 'sucking' hr thumb, she doesn't actually suck it at all, but does the same tongue action that she does with my nipple, so I'm guessing it's the sucking action that she can't or won't do. What's the difference with a 'nuk' bottle? They just look like ordinary baby bottles in the on line photos.
