When does the milk stop?

I stopped bf 5 days ago and my breasts are still full and very sore. My dd is 15 months and she was only on one feed a day.
Does anyone know how long it takes until the breasts stop producing milk?

wear i a tight bra at least one size smaller and this helps to stop the milk production

I had the same recently. I'd squeeze just a bit out in the shower. Enough to relieve the soreness. It took about a week for it to subside

Takes a long time for there to be no milk at all (several months?) squeezing out enough to relieve soreness is a good idea.

Months!! That makes sense anyway, it is worse today.
Thanks for the advice.

i found if you express any it makes your body produce more. if you can stand it dont express any because it works like supply and demand.

You can express a tiny bit though just for comfort, just make sure not to take too much out. If you leave it and get really engorged you can get mastitis. Same with wearing a too-small bra.
