Tingling sensation in back

Just curious if anyone knows what this might be. It's a faint tingling sensation near my left shoulder blade. I'm wondering if it's some sort of let down but DS is now one year old and I've never felt any let down before.

I'm only feeding him on the left and the tingling feeling happens throughout the day and not even when I'm feeding.

Maybe it's nothing to do with breastfeeding at all Confused

I get this! I have had it from day one though and mostly only when I am feeding. I was never sure if it was letdown or whether it was because my posture was bad when feeding...now, reading your post, I think it must be let down! Will be looking to see what others say...

i have no idea what this is but iam also bf (dd is nearly 13mths) and get a tingling feeling similar to pins and needles in my back from hip level to just under shoulder blade only ever on the right side, its been bothering me for ages but ive not been to gp.it comes on at any time in day not just during bf.i wondered if it had anything to do with epidural i had when i had my cs but not sure its a bit of a mystery!

I also get this - DS is one week old and can feel tingling sensation under shoulder blade on side I am feeding from - wondered if it might be let down as can't feel anything in the breast like I thought I would.

I had this always on left side near my shoulder blade. Come to think of it I haven't noticed it for the last week or two. Wonder what it is!

OK so the shoulder blade area seems to be the common place for this....still none the wiser about what it is though.

Oh well, must be one of life's mysteries- nice to know it's not just me though.

Thanks for your replies Smile

Hi there,

i Have this too, got it after DS and got xrayed but they did not find anything. Then was referred to physio and they told me that my muscles on the left hand side of my back near shoulder blade are being underused as my posture is not very good. She gave me some exercises to do to strengthen them but then got pregnant with DD and the feeling went away. Now it's come back and want to go back to physio to get reassessed.

hope that helps - it might be worth getting a referral...

ps- i never bf DS so don't think it had anything to do with that.

You have breast tissue in your back as well. Not sure about tingling Xmas Smile

another one woth the tingling--i thought it was because i'm usually carrying the baby around in my left arm and trying to do stuff with my right hand. So the muscles on my left side are tired.
