Breast Pump Brand Advice?

I have a Lansinoh double pump which I can only use on one side as I have a very long nipple on the right which gets too sore.

It's faulty (rendomly switches off) and needs returning. Any suggestions for an alternative?

I express daily, half for the freezer and half for milk donation to the prem unit, so need a good one.

I was considering just hiring the local NCT one. Anyone tried them?

Do the milk bank not provide you with one? They loan you a hospital grade pump if you are expressing for the milk bank in my area, might be worth telling them that your pump has broken and see if they can loan you one?

I looked into loaning through the NCT but it was really expensive and I didn't want to spend the money so I got a Medela Swing, which had the best reviews for that type of pump.

If you do hire tho I used the turquoise coloured Ameda pump in hospital and found it very efficient and comfortable.

Meant to say, you can hire the Ameda one from the NCT - they have a choice of pumps.

I bought a Ameda Lactaline second hand and found that to be very good. DH managed to loose one of the valves 2 days before Christmas, I contacted them for a replacement and it came the next morning, Christmas Eve, in the post. Was very, very impressed.

Just posted about my Philips Avent on another thread - apparently that is supposed to be as good as a hospital grade pump (according to their literature).

I express about 1.2 litres a day, using the pump six to eight times a day so it stands up to regular use! I don't know if they do a double pump, I just have the single. I would definitely recommend it, comfortable, very easy to use, put together etc and I always get loads out. You can set the speed and vigorousness of the pump as the motor "remembers" your first few manual presses on the pump handle.
