7mo DD doesn't like follow-on milk

I mainly BFed DD for the first 6 months with some bottles thrown in because she was very hungry. Since weaning I've been finishing off a tub of first milk so have only started the follow on milk in the last couple of days. I've tried to give it to her twice and she refuses to have it.
Any ideas why? Does it taste different?

I don't know about taste but I was told by midwives that if I ffed i should give first milk all the way through - follow on milk is unnecessary. If she doesn't like it, just give her first milk

Just give her first milk, follow on milk is a marketing gimmick anyway.

Is it? Brilliant, I'll do that. Thank you :)

Yep, follow on milk is completely unnecessary, just stick with the first formula that she likes.

LadyViper · 27/11/2010 20:51

They only sell it because they aren't allowed to advertise first milk.

Another vote for ditching the follow-on milk - there is NO need for it. Just continue with the FF she likes.

Grrrr at how successful misleading marketing is Angry!!

Follow-on is a con - cheaper to make than formula & a way of getting formula advertised. Stick with first milk Smile

You probably already know now but no need for follow on milk. It only even exists in countries where its illegal to advertise milk suitable for newborns.
