how much formula for a six month old on solids?

Hello. My dd is well established on solids and is having 2 meals a day. She is down to four feeds: 7am, 11am, 2.30pm and 630pm. She takes approx 8oz at all her feeds bar the 11am one, which she is totally losing interest in. My first DD dropped her 11am bottle feed at approx nine months, but DD2 is showng signs of wanting to do this sooner. So my question is - how much milk should she be having (ff) and is it 'safe' to drop that feed??

Thanks

she needs to be consuming roughly 600ml (20oz) of formula a day on top of her solids. My DD is 7 months and doing basically the same as your little one. She takes maybe one or two oz at lunch , much preferring her solids.

She is definitely moving towards dropping it completely. i doubt she would miss it if i stopped offering it now. I think i would just make sure she is taking plenty of water with her lunch so she doesn't miss the hydration.

a minimum of 20oz is recommended up to 1 year. Why not just offer a smaller amount in that bottle and then drop it when she only takes a couple of ounces of it. I used to make smaller bottles for the daytime feeds than I did for the am and pm feeds.
