my ds is 4 months old and has always been a lazy feeder..he is now bottle fed.
in the last few weeks particularly he has been very sleepy - if we're out and about i swear he'd sleep all day - if he does wake up for a feed he will only take 3-4 oz at a time and then seems fully satisfied. he is otherwise happy and content - although has had a bit of a cold...is it normal for them to still be so sleepy at this age? the problem is if can't get the milk into him through the day and then he wakes very 2 hours at night. should i keep waking him in the day to encourage him to feed more? for instance today, woke at 7am, had 2 oz. slept til i woke him at 11ish had about 1 oz. sleeping now..should i wake him and try again??!

personally, i would. I would aim to offer him milk at a 2-3 hour interval during the day.

DD used to sleep about 5 hours a day at that age, plus 8-7 at night. She would have a morning nap about 9am through to 11, another nap about 1.30 through to 3.30 and usually a 1 hour cat nap between 5-6 before going back to bed at 8pm or thereabouts.

ok, i'm off to wake him now!! it's so tempting to just leave him be and enjoy this quiet time doing my own thing, but hey..guess the little one comes first!! my dd was so different...always looking for a feed and so this is all very wierd for me!
