I am bfing too and feel constantly hungry and seem to be constantly stuffing my face with chocolate or biscuits - I am so bad that I am just about to make some fairy cakes with the kids as I fancy some cake!!!

My friends think I'm some sort of domestic goddess supermum because I'm baking with a 2 month old baby. I tell them it's to entertain my 3 year old but really it's because I need a LOT of cake just now. Constantly famished.

Was going to say that I would need to be very hungry before eating a sweet potato sandwich, but read your clarification.

Seriously, though, I'm the same even after 12 months. It's great to be able to eat anything and not gain weight....

marzipananimal · 21/11/2010 19:20

yes - i'm putting away a worrying amount of biscuits and chocolate at the mo (too lazy to make cake)

LittlebearH · 21/11/2010 19:57

this was me.... totally starving, ate loads and put on lots of weight.... weighed the same 6 months post partum as i did 9 months pregnant! loosing it now though on strict diet.

theidsalright · 21/11/2010 21:06

first six months it was all cake cake cake here.

DS ensured I did not put on a pound and actually got a bit bony. Enjoy it whilst it lasts!

LittlebearH · 21/11/2010 21:06

You will get there MumNW I have just got down to my pre preg weight..So good to finally stop wearing maternity jeans.

mawbroon · 21/11/2010 21:07

I was totally starving all the time when feeding ds1. i would eat a huge bowl of porridge stuffed full of dried fruit for breakfast and then I would be hungry half an hour later. Eating actually became a chore, which is quite something given how much I love my food.

Despite this, all my pregnancy weight came off within 9 months or so which amazed me!

Second time round, I didn't put on nearly so much weight with ds2 and didn't get so hungry when feeding either. I often wonder if this is because I was still feeding ds1 throughout my pregnancy, and beyond, so my body was already used to producing milk. Dunno...

I guess the sensible (but not so exciting) thing would be to make sure you make healthy choices with food and eat to hunger.
